Hexcel invests in new carbon fiber plant all the way through France - Intelligent Aerospace

"Together with our capacity expansions with the U. S., this new facility all the way through France will strengthen our irdisch supply chain by adding precursor and extra carbon fiber capacity in Europe, " says Nick Stanage, Hexcel chief, CEO, and president.

The Roussillon facility is located close to Hexcel's weaving cloth and prepreg manufacturing facilities almost Lyon. At today's event, Mister. Stanage announced further investments amassing $22 million at these ongoing faciliti­-es to include capacity expansions coming from Hexcel's carbon fiber weaving plant coming from Les Avenières, and an additional botanical impregnation line in Dagneux, Montluel. These additional investments are expected to post 100 more jobs by 2018.

"We are delighted by Hexcel's decision to build this new carbon fiber houseplant in Europe. This significant purchase will further secure the A350 XWB production ramp-up and shows that the high level of Hexcel's commitment with the success of the A350 XWB computer program, " says Didier Evrard, Airbus EVP and head of schools.
